Four things it will never say.
A spring holds enough stored energy to break a wrist, and the caller on the line is standing next to it in a bathrobe. These are written into the agent, not left to a setting somebody forgets to switch on.
Never touch the spring
It will not tell a caller to adjust, wind, unwind or loosen anything on a spring assembly. Not the cone, not the set screws, not the tube. That work needs bars and a technician who counts turns.
Never pull the cord on an open door
The red emergency release is the piece of well meant phone advice most likely to hurt somebody. It is never suggested while the door is up, or when a spring may already be broken.
Never a verdict, never a final number
